1. Who we are
This website, birdproofingtownsville.com.au, is operated by Cleanest Solar, trading as Bird Proofing Townsville. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to that business.
We are committed to handling personal information responsibly and in line with good privacy practice, including the principles set out in the Australian Privacy Principles.
2. What information we collect
When you contact us or request a quote, we collect the information you choose to give us. That can include:
- your name, phone number and email address
- your suburb, approximate number of panels and details about the problem
- photos you upload of your roof or panels
- anything else you include in your message
- whether you have opted in to marketing, and the wording you agreed to
When you submit a quote request we also record how you found the website: the page you first landed on, the referring website, any advertising campaign tags in the link (such as UTM or click IDs), the date and time, and your device type (mobile, tablet or desktop). To do this, the website stores this information in your browser's local storage until you submit the form.
We don't ask for sensitive information, and we ask you not to include it in your message.
3. How we collect it
We collect information when you fill in our quote form, call, email or message us, or deal with us in person when we quote or carry out work. Some technical information is collected automatically when you use the website (see section 7).
4. Why we collect it and how we use it
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, assess your property, prepare and follow up your quote, book and carry out work, invoice, and keep records. Photos you upload are used only to assess and respond to your enquiry. Information about how you found the website helps us understand which advertising and pages are working.
Requesting a quote does not sign you up to marketing. We will contact you about your enquiry only, unless you separately tick the optional marketing box (see section 8).
5. Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We use service providers to run the business, and they may handle your information on our behalf:
- Website hosting: Netlify
- Quote form processing and storage (including uploaded photos): Netlify Forms
- Customer relationship management (CRM): HubSpot
- Email and SMS service providers, used to communicate with you and to notify our team by email and text message when you submit an enquiry
- Accounting and invoicing: Xero
- AI tools: Claude (Anthropic) and ChatGPT (OpenAI), which we may use to help draft responses, quotes and other written content
When we use AI tools, details from your enquiry may be processed by those providers under their own terms. Quotes and decisions about your job are made by our team.
We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law.
6. Overseas storage
Some of our service providers store or process data outside Australia. This includes Netlify, HubSpot, Xero, Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI (ChatGPT), which may store or process information in the United States and other countries.
7. Cookies, local storage, third-party content and tracking
At the date of this policy, this website does not use Google Analytics, Google Ads tracking or a Meta (Facebook) Pixel. If we add analytics or advertising technologies, we will update this policy before they are used.
This website loads fonts from Google Fonts and displays reviews using a widget provided by Elfsight. When these load, your browser connects to those providers, which may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details, and in some cases may use cookies under their own privacy policies.
8. Direct marketing
We only send promotional emails or SMS if you have opted in, for example by ticking the optional marketing box on our quote form. We record when and where you gave consent and the wording you agreed to. Every marketing message identifies us and includes a simple way to unsubscribe, and we action unsubscribe requests promptly. You can also opt out at any time by contacting us.
9. Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Our website uses HTTPS, and form submissions are not published on the website. We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, and photos uploaded with enquiries are not kept longer than we need them.
10. Access and correction
You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We'll respond within a reasonable time.
11. Questions and complaints
